Nintendo E3 2015 Press Conference
June 16, in the year of our Lord 2015 -- Here we are again with another Family Friendly Gaming Original news article. This one covers the Nintendo E3 2015 Press Conference. Actually Nintendo tries to cut the press/media out of it and go directly to the consumers. They call it a Digital Event. Satoru Iwata is shown in Muppet form. He gets Reggie Fils-Aime and Shigeru Miyamoto who are also in Muppet form. They turn into characters from Star Fox. Then we get a world premiere of a new Star Fox video game on the Wii U. Planes morph into walking mechs as there is all kinds of violence, shooting, and destruction. Starfox Zero will be released by Christmas 2015.
Shigeru Miyamoto talks about his thoughts behind Starfox Zero, and where he got the idea for the Star Fox franchise. He is shown in Japan, maybe in front of some Eastern religious temple. He wants gamers to go under arches like the religious teaches at the temple he is proselytizing. He explains the use of two different screens in Starfox Zero. They do different things and can be very distracting. Less buttons are used in Starfox Zero compared to Star Fox 64. Multiple different vehicle forms are shown. Starfox is based on Japanese culture and beliefs.
Reggie comes back to give us the normal propaganda. Nintendo’s theme is transformation this E3 2015. Reggie references Nintendo NX - promises new data to come in 2016. Super Mario Bros is celebrating his 30th anniversary. Mario Maker is referenced and releasing later this year. Amiibos are now advertised. Karthik Bala is brought up to talk about Skylanders Superchargers and the vehicles. Turbo Charge Donkey Kong, and Hammer Slam Bowser are shown. They can work in Skylanders Superchargers, or amiibos by the rotation of the bottom. They have a love fest about how great the other is to work with.
The Muppets dance to the Mario song. Link is shown in a Mario game. The Legend of Zelda Triforce Heroes is announced, and shown in a new video. This is for the Nintendo 3DS where cooperative game play is shown. Expect this three Link game to arrive this fall. Eiji Aonuma, and the game director talk about the game, and show us the video portions again. They explain the three player concept in this hand held video game. Different clothes provide different abilities.
Hyrule Warriors is being ported over to the Nintendo 3DS as well. All of the DLC will be included, and even more characters from The Legend of Zelda Wind Wakers franchise. The name of the game is Hyrule Warriors Legends. A video for Hyrule Warriors Legends is the shown. Looks pretty violent, and the cel shading does not look that great. First Quarter 2016 is when that game will release.
Metroid Prime Federation Force is now shown in a video. This will be a Nintendo 3DS. Metroid Prime Blast Ball is also shown. Expect them in 2016. Mario is shown again, and then morphs into someone else. Fire Emblem Fates is now shown in a video. Pretty dark, and violent, and a variety of magical powers. Expect Fire Emblem Fates in 2016. Does Nintendo have much coming out this year? Then a video for a game from Atlus. Enticement to lust, and violence in this Fire Emblem crossover. Does not look good. Definitely a game families want to pass on in 2016. Another video for an ultra violent, macabre and morbid looking game on planets and the universe. Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out 12.4.2015.
Now a video for that Animal Crossing repeat pay to play app on the Nintendo 3DS. September 25, 2015 Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer comes out. Then an Animal Crossing board game like Mario Party is shown. Animal Crossing Amibo Festival will be out by Christmas 2015. Emily Watanabe is up next talking about Yoshi’s Wooly World on the Wii U. She made yarn Yoshi’s just for fun. Which is where the design for this game came from. Expect it to be released on October 16, 2015. Amiibos for this game are now advertised to us.
Time for something from Level-5. A video of a game showing a boy and some ghost. Yo-kai Watch. is the name of this Nintendo 3DS video game. Expect it to release by Christmas 2015. Now we see a video for Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. Then a video for Mario Tennis Ultra Smash. Expect that game by Christmas 2015 as well.
Takashi Tezuka and Shigeru Miyamoto talk about Super Mario Maker. They decided to go Minecraft with Mario and allow gamers the same tool they use to make these 2D side scrolling video games. Graph paper of older games is shown, as well as the see through paper overlayed. Players can use amiibos to change what Mario looks like. An 8-bit amiibo of Mario is also shown. They talk about how much better they are than gamers. Also claims their game design is like a tutorial. September 10, 2015 is when Super Mario Maker comes out.
Reggie advertises their Nintendo Treehouse. Then he advertises Best Buy having some of their games to try out. He then brags about Mario, and we get another Mario video. Then a video of people playing or singing the Mario theme song. And of people cosplaying Mario. Obviously Nintendo’s arrogance knows no bounds. Then an advertisement for a place to share your own Mario video. Another video for Super Mario Maker is shown. Shigeru tells us they have much more to share in the future.
